Pastor Janine Schenone grew up in a large Italian Catholic family in the San Francisco Bay Area. After earning Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in English and creative writing, she worked in the software industry for 15 years before moving to Sacramento to teach English at American River College. She walked into an Episcopal church one year later and re-experienced a call to the priesthood that she had first experienced as a child in Catholic churches.

She earned an M.Div at Yale Divinity School and began a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology at Fordham University before realizing her true calling is parish ministry. She has previously served as the Theologian in Residence at Christ Church in Bronxville, NY; the Senior Associate for Congregational Development at All Saints Church, Pasadena; and the Rector of Good Samaritan Episcopal Church in San Diego, CA.

She loves hiking and cycling, piano playing, reading, films, and rooting for Bay Area teams (while being pastorally supportive of Colorado teams).

Amy comes to St. John's from Church of the Ascension in Denver, where she has been serving as Associate Rector. Before that, she served as Associate Rector at Trinity-by-the-Cove in Naples, FL. Prior to being called to ordained ministry, Amy worked for more than a decade as the Director of College Counseling at a K-12 independent school in Naples, Florida. Originally from Pasadena, California, Amy has also lived in rural New Hampshire (so snow is not a problem) as well as Washington, DC and Arlington, VA. She attended Nashotah House Theological Seminary in Delafield, WI. Amy and her husband Jon have four grown children, three of whom have relocated to Colorado! Amy met several members of St. John's on the recent Camino in Portugal and Spain, and she is excited to get to know the rest of the congregation and explore all that Boulder has to offer as she begins her new ministry.
